FTAs

In completing the previous exams (April 2026 & Oct. 2025- I noticed there were hardly any questions regarding FTAs) There used to be a lot of them. What happened? Should I not focus too much on that section?

I counted across all seventeen released sittings.

Dedicated FTA questions, the kind that test the agreement itself: 2 to 5 per sitting from April 2018 through October 2023. Then zero. Five sittings in a row now, May 2024 through April 2026, without a single one.

They did not disappear completely though. FTAs still show up inside other questions, about 2 or 3 per recent exam, as context in entry, origin and classification items. A USMCA claim sitting inside an entry summary question, that kind of thing.

So I would not build a study block around the agreements themselves. Know USMCA well enough to handle it when it turns up inside an origin or entry question, and spend the recovered hours on entry summary and classification, which between them are about 40 percent of the paper.

All 20 released FTA questions are here if you want to sweep them once:
